Lewisham All Age Autism Strategy 2024

Closes 31 Jan 2025

Opened 11 Dec 2024

Overview

Lewisham Council have an All-Age Autism Strategy that is in place between 2023 and 2028. Lewisham Council and its partner organisations have committed to progressing our vision that Lewisham is a borough in which autstic people can lead fulfilling lives. We aim to become an autism-inclusive borough, improving conditions for autistic people to ensure they are welcome, safe and able to thrive. Following our consultation in May 2022, your comments contributed towards the agreement of the eight key priorities, which will help us work towards becoming an autism-inclusive borough.

During the development of the strategy, we went out to consultation to ask to what extent our autistic residents agreed that our vision statements aligned with their wants.  We want to ensure that the strategy remains a living, working set of priorites and actions and have established the Lewisham Autism Partnership Board who is responsible for making this happen.

We have comitted to undertake temperature checks throughout the life of the strategy to see how we are progressing against our vision. We want to get a meaningful view of how, or if, the strategy and actions to date are impacting on our local community, we consulting with our residents again for comparison.

We want to hear from our residents on the impact of the strategy implementation. We also want to understand what gaps and future steps that we may need to take in 2025/2026.
