Serious Violence Duty Survey

Closed 3 Dec 2023

Opened 24 Oct 2023

Overview

As part of the Government's new Serious Violence Duty, Lewisham Council are undertaking a public consultation to gather the views and perceptions of serious violence in the Borough. In addition to this survey, we will attend community events around Lewisham to gather more in depth feedback from the local community. If you would like to be involved in these events, please visit Lewisham Council social media to find out more about upcoming events or contact safercommunities@lewisham.gov.uk.

Please note that the survey will ask about sensitive topics, including violence/murder, knife crime, domestic abuse and sexual violence.

How will the results be used?

The detail provided from this survey will help the Safer Lewisham Partnership deepen its understanding of the views and experiences of those that live, work and visit the borough by providing evidence that identifies the kinds of serious violence that happens in Lewisham and to try to find out what causes it. This will help the responsible authorities to focus on preventing crime and intervening early to reduce the chances of someone committing or becoming a victim of crime.

The survey will take 10 minutes to complete but the results have the potential to help improve the safety and wellbeing of people in Lewisham.

All results are recorded anonymously and there is no obligation to provide any information that would identify you.
